Express yourself with u:moon – a stunning pixel display suspended in the stars. Send out a message, expose your feelings, make a post-ironic statement or delicately show your rear end on 625 illuminated spheres.

Dates: u:moon will be appearing at the Secret Garden Party (23rd to 26th July).

u:moon is a low resolution led display suspended in the air, created using 625 super bright white LED's covered with 50mm polystyrene spheres acting as diffusers.


Participants interact with the display by taking pictures, creating graphics, and entering text messages. These are then animated on the display, if no new entries are made the display will randomly cycle through previous entries.



Tech Specs:

Display: area: 1.5m2, resolution: 25x25 pixels (625) with 8 levels of grey, supported by a single 2.4m helium balloon at a height of 10m - 20m.

User Interface: 12” Touch Screen, running a custom flash application allowing users to capture images via camera, draw shapes, pick from a library of graphics, and enter text messages.

Secret Garden Party Gallery

Due to complications, the balloon was never launched and the display was hung from a flag pole at a height of six meters.
